San Marcos, A new dimension of computer service was unveiled today at Pack Lab's San
Marcos, CA nutritional supplement packaging center. The new computer-based
communications system (dubbed PLUMS-Pack Lab User Management System) allows
customers to check the status of their orders, product and label inventories, customer
owned materials, and account balances. "With our expanding customer base, the new
system gives our customers the ability to obtain secure access to their data on-line, using a
conventional web server such as Microsoft Explorer? or Netscape Navigator?". This is
another step toward a completion of a seamless, fully integrated EDI (Electronic Data
Interchange) system. We will be able to handle more administrative functions for our
customers and vendors by using the convenience of the internet and the worldwide web",
said Marshall Simon, the company's CEO. During the past year, Pack Lab has expanded
its packaging services to include powder packaging, has received a drug manufacturing
license allowing the processing of OTC(over-the-counter) products, and installed
MAPICS(Management, Accounting & Production Information Control System), the heart
of PLUMS.
